The Petronas TOM’s team Lexus RC F of Daisuke Ito and James Rossiter claimed victory in round five of the Japanese Super GT series last weekend in another strong showing for Lexus’ motorsport program.
Ito and Rossiter won an eventful race with rainy spells and safety car periods by one minute and 25 seconds.
The result marked the second successive victory in the race, known as the Suzuka 1000km, for the Petronas TOM’s outfit.
Another Lexus RC F, the Zent Cerumo entry of Yuji Tachikawa and Hiroaki Ishiura, finished in second position.
The RC Fs of Petronas TOM’s and Zent Cerumo compete in the premier level GT500 class of the Super GT series.
The RC F GT500 machine is powered by a two-litre four-cylinder RI4AG direct-injection petrol turbo engine that produces more than 400 kilowatts, driving through a six-speed sequential transmission.
